Team17 win the Publishing Star award and DREDGE developers Black Salt deservingly take home the Best Small Studio award!

On Wednesday (12th July) all eyes were on Brighton, UK for the Develop:Star Awards, which were held as part of the annual Develop Brighton games industry conference. The awards recognise some of the amazing achievements by developers, publishers, and others from across the world of gaming over the past year. And we won!

In fact, it was a double winning night: Not only did Team17 Digital secure the Publishing Star award, but DREDGE developers Black Salt Games took home the Best Small Studio award. We’re thrilled for the team in Auckland, and hopefully this will be the first of many awards for them over the months and years ahead.

We were also paying close attention to several other categories on the night! Released a few months ago to critical acclaim, DREDGE was nominated in three categories (Best Game Design, Best Visual Art, and Best Audio) while our employee-led group Green17 (which meets to discuss and progress the company’s green activities) was in the Sustainability Star category. Farmside, which was published at the start of the year by Team17 USA, was shortlisted in the Best Mobile Game category.

While other worthy winners took those prizes, our spirits certainly weren’t dampened and we are THRILLED for the recognition we’ve received from our industry peers. Congratulations to everyone nominated and who won on the night, we’re looking forward to returning to the seaside in 2024!
