We are looking for 2D Pixel Artists, to join our growing team. Quite simply you must be a great artist who can demonstrate a wide range of styles and a passion for making sure that our games just look great.
In summary, you will need to demonstrate the following:
- At least 2 years’ experience working within the gaming sector
- Excellent Pixel art skills as well as 2D and or 3D art skills
- Flexible in terms of Art Styles to meet current pixel art trends
- UI design skills advantageous
- Experience of Unity 5 is desirable

Due to expansion we are now looking for an experienced UI designer to join our growing Design Team.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Defining the overall vision for and the design of the game’s user interface
- The creation of documentation to help communicate the vision, including but not limited to wireframes and flowcharts
- The creation of working prototypes that demonstrate the design and help reduce risk in the production phase of development
- The creation of and continued development of all aspects of a game’s UI, including but not limited to the game’s Menu System and HUD
- Working closely with the Creative Director, design lead, art and animation team, sound designer and production team to realise the design and improve the user experience
- Taking an iterative approach to development by working closely with the Usability department to improve the end user’s understanding of how to interact with the UI and improve the overall user experience
- Championing the design department’s UI/UX related work, guiding future approaches to UI/UX and helping set the agenda for any training to be undertaken by other designers
- Ensuring an overall high quality level of the UI design, and User Experience
The Key Skills we need are:
- The ability to communicate your vision to designers, artists, programmers, producers and others involved in the development process. This may involve presenting ideas both verbally and on paper, for which writing and the ability to communicate your idea in a visual form are required.
- A strong knowledge of software used in UI development, preferably including but not limited to: Adobe Photoshop, Abobe Illustrator, Unity UI and Unreal UMG
In addition, you must demonstrate the following skills and characteristics:
- The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of experience in a UI/UX design role within the games industry and has shipped at least one commercial title
- A keen interest in general in User Interface design, the field of User Experience, and the continued development of these subjects

- Producing or assisting in the production of that content, ensuring as much as possible a high quality of content
- Working proactively with the other members of the team, the Production team and the Creative Director to ensure that the design-related goals of the company are met in a timely manner
- Working alongside the Audio Engineer in the design of any audible aspects of a project
- Working alongside the Usability Analyst and implementing feedback to ensure the highest possible quality experience
- Actively representing design interests in cross-discipline discussions and meetings both proactively and when requested to do so while encouraging a collaborative work ethic
- Assessing the work of other designers and feeding back to them regularly to ensure a high quality of design output across the project
- Identifying and reporting all risks, progress and problems to your design lead and producer
- Understanding the role of pacing, narrative, theme and mechanics in creating compelling gameplay experiences

Producer/Project Manager – Wakefield

We’re looking for a Producer/Project Manager to join us in delivering a plethora of brilliant games across all formats, working with both internal development teams as well as those in our development family spread across the world.

You will be responsible for:
- Managing a project from initial concepts through to publication.
- Establishing a realistic project scope.
- Ensuring that the development of all projects occurs in a timely fashion, adheres to a budget and meets the high quality standards required.
- Performing and optimising good project management techniques to ensure the above.
- Performing risk analysis on all projects and manage with a view to mitigating any and all project risks.
- Reviewing milestone deliverables and working to ensure they are fully achieved to the highest standards.
- Working with any 3rd party developers or publishers to meet the business needs of Team17, maintaining good relationships with both.
- Ensuring a game can meet the technical requirements of format holders.
- Co-ordinating external projects when required.
- Reviewing production department performance.
- Reporting to the Production Director on progress, budgets, risks, failures and any and all known issues.
- Working with programmers, artists, designers, audio staff and external contractors to ensure a good working environment and atmosphere.
Skills & Experience Needed
Essential
- Must have exemplary organisational skills and have a solid understanding of modern project management methodologies and practices (e.g. Prince2, Agile, Waterfall).
- Must be proactive and driven without need for supervision.
- Outstanding communication skills both written and verbal.
- Must be a natural leader who can motivate and drive development teams and processes.

We are looking for 2D/3D Artists, to join our growing team. Quite simply you must be a great artist who can demonstrate a wide range of styles and a passion for making sure that our games just look great.
In summary, you will need to demonstrate the following:
- At least 2-3 years’ experience working within the gaming sector
- Excellent 2D and 3D art skills
- Flexible in terms of Art Styles
- UI design skills and experience of Unity 5 and Unreal Engine 4 are desirable

Job Description:
We are looking for a Graphics Programmer to join us at our headquarters in Wakefield to work on an exciting title for several platforms. This will involve working with the Lead Programmer and Lead Artists to highlight, plan and implement graphics updates across a variety of areas such as VFX, lighting, post processing and optimisation for multiple platforms.
Essential Skills:
- Practical and demonstrable professional experience with graphics programming in a modern game engine, with at least 1 shipped game on PC or current-gen consoles
- Good working knowledge of C++ and shader languages (HLSL, GLSL or similar)
- Experience debugging and optimising shader code (HLSL, GLSL or similar)
- Knowledge of optimisation techniques/approaches
- Excellent communication skills, being able to explain technical solutions clearly and concisely
- Proven record of working with a mixed discipline team
Desirable Skills:
- Experience of Unreal Engine 4 or Unity3D

We are looking for a Build Engineer to join our development team and help to support our Games Label partners, responsibilities will include developing and supporting the internal continuous integration system used for all our projects, liaising with the teams and ensuring that the system meets the requirements of delivering regular builds to QA and release.

We are now looking for an experienced Lead or Senior QA to join our expanding team whose main responsibility is to ensure that the entire QA process is planned and organised from start to finish.
In this role you will be responsible For:
- Planning and organising the entire QA process from start to finish on projects assigned to you.
- Scrutinising testers day-to-day performance and focus, as well as Mantis and test plan usage.
- Assisting the QA Manager in mentoring and training junior QA staff.
- Planning, creating and executing testing plans to ensure all titles are defect free and ready for any platform holder certification testing.
- Planning, creating and executing risk assessment documentation to assure that all projects pass smoothly through the QA cycle.
- Testing games to destruction to find and document any and all defects
- Being fully aware of format holders’ technical requirements and being able to add that knowledge to a comprehensive testing plan
- Compiling a list of defects or any issues of design or implementation during a testing cycle
- Preparing bug analysis reports for Production staff
- Identifying and articulating problem areas within a game
- Participating in game reviews and evaluations to measure the functionality of a game against its design specification
- Working side-by-side with development teams to track issues and provide any help to assist in the remedy of any defects
- Maintaining a positive atmosphere in the testing department.
Essential Skills
- 3+ years’ experience within a QA role
- Shipped a minimum of one game as the lead QA from pre-production to release.
- Good ability to communicate problems and the ability to understand the requirements of the development teams.
- Experience of mentoring more junior staff and monitoring their progress on a daily basis.
- The ability to devise good working practices and approaches to problem solving.
- The ability to adapt to product changes and adapt testing practices to suit.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Desirable Skills
- Experience and understanding of Microsoft XR/Sony TRC compliance documentation.
